Frieda
Keating Tata - Originally a portrait artist, Frieda now
enjoys exploring new horizons in art. Not totally abandoning her
love for oils, she has dabbled in a variety of media, such as printmaking,
colored pencils, Polaroid alternative photography art, papermaking,
digital art, and most recently - acrylics. "Whatever the media,
I usually focus my art on living beings - people or animals. The
variety of expression and gesture in humans intrigues me".
After years of self-taught art, Tata pursued a degree at UCCS, where
she learned web design and digital creativity. Her art entries won
1st and 2nd place in the 2003 UCCS student literary arts magazine.
She graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Fine Arts (Studio) and
has exhibited in Europe and in Colorado Springs, Denver, and Pueblo,
Colorado, to include the Colorado State Fair and the BAC in Manitou
Springs, CO. She has earned numerous awards and prizes for her work
over the years. Her work is in private collections internationally.
Tata currently owns AlyceBuzz Design Studios, specializing in photo
imaging services - producing unique photo gifts and digital photo
restoration. She also designs and maintains several web sites. "I
try to carve out some painting time in my busy schedule. I'm always
happy when I can do that." See more of her art on the internet
at www.artsandcraftsgalleria.com.
She is the web designer and Web Administrator for the Guild's official
web site, www.artwebsite.org.
